YouTube Remains Most-Watched Streaming Platform in the U.S. for Sixth Consecutive Month

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, YouTube has once again ranked as the most-watched video streaming platform in the United States for the sixth straight month. Nielsen reports that American audiences watched 13.4% of all video content through YouTube on television screens.

Nielsen’s measurement only covers smart TVs in the U.S., but since a large portion of YouTube’s audience uses mobile devices, the platform’s actual viewership is significantly higher.

Disney ranked second in July with 9.4% of TV streaming share. Nielsen noted that the four-point gap between YouTube and Disney is the widest margin recorded since tracking of smart TV streaming began.

Netflix placed third with 8.8%, but recorded the highest growth in viewing time, with 215,000 additional minutes streamed. Amazon, boosted by titles such as The Summer I Turned Pretty, secured fourth place with 3.9% viewership share.
